Roxie Leigh I Marketing Consultant

Hello, my name is Roxie Leigh and I am a Design and Marketing Consultant with more than 14 years of experience in design, branding and marketing management. My graphic design and marketing consultant services are currently available for hire.

On this website, you will find lots of information about my background, skills, and the services I provide, links to my graphic design and photography portfolios, as well as links to my various social media accounts.

There is a lot of information on this page so feel free to navigate through it using the menu below.

I was born in England and relocated to Kelowna, BC with my family when I was in grade school. Like most kids growing up in the interior, my days were spent outdoors climbing trees, riding horses, and swimming in Okanagan Lake.

After graduation, I moved to Calgary, and worked for a few years in a range of industries. From a cocktail waitress to the person who changes your oil, I have taken a turn at every customer service job in existence, but my creative roots kept on calling me back. In the mid 90s, I moved to Vancouver to pursue a career in photography.

I studied at Langara College, attending part time photography classes for two years before the computer bug bit me, and in 1998, I changed my focus to learning how to design and program websites. Since making that shift, my career has woven it’s way through website programming, graphic and user interface design, creative direction, running the marketing department at a national consumer electronics company, to research and development in the exploding mobile platform. It has been anything but boring!

Currently, I am self-employed as a Graphic Designer and Marketing Consultant, specializing in the unique needs of small business owners. After spending six years working closely with independent franchise operators, I gained significant insight into how difficult it is for small businesses to survive and thrive in a world where large corporations are an every day threat to their success.

When I am not working, you can find me wandering around the city with my camera, listening to music, binge watching my latest favourite series on Netflix, or reading through a big stack of books. My nerdy collections include old books, coins, and British curios.

I am:
  • Flexible (adapt easily to quickly changing targets and priorities)
  • Innovative (love finding better ways to do things)
  • Insightful (draw inspiration from all available resources)
  • Curious (insatiable desire to acquire new information and skills)
  • Strategic (configure new and unusual ways to streamline processes)

Based in beautiful Vancouver, BC, I serve my clients with professional and cost effective solutions that net results in a densely crowded market. I specialize in graphic design that focuses on consistent branding, and provide marketing consultant services based on the unique challenges that small business owners are faced with in today’s competitive landscape.

I believe that design is about much more than artistic talent. It requires an innate ability to understand what a client really wants, sometimes with very little guidance, combined with the skill to execute. My services include logo design, corporate identity branding, web design, and print design (including letterhead, business cards, posters, CD covers, book covers, flyers, large document formatting and much more).

My marketing consultant services include strategic budget planning, tapping in to free, low cost & guerrilla marketing opportunities, demographic analysis, precision consumer targeting, distribution planning and marketing coordination. All marketing strategies are specially tailored to meet my client's individual requirements.

A colleague once said about me,

“In mathematics, the shortest distance between to points is a straight line. In business, the shortest distance between two points is Roxane.”

I can never resist the challenge of taking a concept that was scratched out on a napkin over lunch and turning it into a fully rendered and polished product!

My work has allowed me the opportunity to build relationships through teamwork, leadership and mentoring, collaborative cross-team cooperation, and even working remotely with people all over the world. During the span of my career, I have been fortunate enough to connect with many people who have a lot of positive things to say about the experience of working with me.

But don’t just take my word for it, read some of the wonderful things my clients and colleagues have to say, and then check out my design portfolio.

Being involved in my community, and lending my services, my hands, or my voice to various causes is important to me. Whether I am running to raise money to feed the hungry, or joining a campaign to fight for women’s issues, equal rights, or the preservation of our environment.

The annual Santa Shuffle Fun Run and Elk Walk

The Santa Shuffle Fun Run raises money through participant sponsorship during the Christmas holiday season every year. My most successful fundraising year contributed more than $1,200 to help provide holiday meals and gifts for families in need. Ho Ho Ho!

Organized by The Salvation Army and sponsored by The Running Room.

Qmunity, BC’s Queer Resource Centre

Qmunity specializes in community development, education and outreach, and advocacy while working towards a world where all queer people are included and free from discrimination. I am committed to providing them with professional graphic design services on an as-needed basis.
